Signs and Symptoms

Signs and symptoms why your horse might need chiropractic care:

  • Loss or decrease of level of performance
  • problems or difficulty executing desired movements i.e. refusal of jumps, difficulty with leap changes, directionals
  • slow breaking from starting gate
  • Behavioral changes (i.e. cinchy, bucking, cold back, irritable
  • Diagnosed condition such as degenerative arthritis, lameness, muscle imbalances, muscle spasms, atrophy
  • Tenderness along spine
  • Injuries resulting from falls, training or other activities
  • Uneven hips and pevis, sacrum or shoulders, decreased range of motion in neck, thoracic or lumbar spine
  • Gate problems such as short strides, cross canter, loss of collection, refusal or difficulty to pick up a lead, not smooth or fluid at different gates and improper head carriage or head throwing.
  • Stressful situations: poor confirmation, various riding and training equipment, performance level and the ability of the rider
  • Note: it should be stressed that chiropractic in no way should be thought of a replacement for conventional veterinarian medicine. It is important that your veterinarian be contacted initially so that he or she can assess your horse for any underlying medical condition that could be causing their symptoms. I will work closely with your veterinarian to get your horse to optimal health and performance as possible.
